My baby is two months old! He is such a little sweetheart, and he's starting to be so interactive and fun. Andrew and I spend a lot of our time marveling at how awesome this little guy is; it's kind of insane. He's so happy and smiley most of the time (there are definitely exceptions, don't get me wrong). He wakes up in a great mood every morning, ready to greet me with a big gummy smile. I used to be really grumpy in the mornings, but I'm finding it impossible with this cuteface there.
Caleb is learning lots of new things these days. He's been rolling over from tummy to back for about a month. He's reeeally close to being able to sit up unsupported. He has really strong back and leg muscles so he constantly wants to stand on our laps and sometimes he bounces up and down. He's making lots of noise- his babbling is so adorable! He's making lots of eye contact, and he's really into talking back when people talk to him, so we have lots of conversations that I don't understand. :) He has a few different sounds- "muh", "gah", "eeeh" and "uhh" are his favorites.
He's also very excited about grabbing things with his fingers. This is pretty funny because I don't think he fully gets it yet, so he just grabs whatever's near him, and then seems really excited when there's a toy in his face (even though he's the one holding it there)! My favorite thing in the world is when Andrew comes home for the day- he gets down on the floor with the baby and they lie next to each other and Caleb grabs his face and just holds on. It's so sweet. Andrew is so patient even though it hurts sometimes. I think Caleb likes the feel of his scruffy beard. Maybe he's thinking about growing one too ;)

Another thing we really enjoy is hanging out with our friends. Maybe this one is more for me... ;)
My friend Rachel has a one year old boy named Andrew and my friend Tanya's baby, Greyson, is almost three months older than Caleb, and we go for walks and hang out. The two little babies are still too young to play, obviously, but they like to stare at each other sometimes. Pretty darn cute.

Other than that, our time is spent napping, reading books, and going on walks when the weather is warm enough. We also like to head up to Nana's house and hang out with her because being at home all the time gets a little boring.
And now the monthly report! Caleb had a doctor's appointment today and weighed 13lbs 6oz- big boy! He's tall, too. Right now he's in the 65th percentile for weight (compared to the 95th when he was born) but still in the 85th for height. He's super healthy and on track for where he's supposed to be, which we figured, but it's still nice to hear it. Our doctor was impressed with his rolling over skills, too. :)

Caleb's favorite things:
- Giving Mama his huge, ridiculously cute grins
- "Talking" to Mama and Daddy with his squeal-y little voice
- Tummy time
- Nakey time!
- Sitting up and looking around at everything- especially the lights on the Christmas tree
- Lying on the floor with Daddy. Also, punching Daddy in the face.
- Grabbing his favorite toy and shaking it
- Hanging out in his high chair
- WIGGLING like crazy- this boy wants to move!
I can't resist sharing a few of my favorite photos of him.
His talkin' face.
See what I mean about the wiggling? I put him down, look away for five seconds, and BAM! He's halfway out of the chair and oh so proud of himself. Little stinker.
His very favorite toy!
I love being able to capture his expressions and reactions to me. So perfect.
Watching my boy grow is a pleasure. Even though I love his cuddly little body warm against mine when he falls asleep, I'm getting really excited for new phases to come- talking, crawling, giving hugs and kisses...
It's all so sweet. I'm doing my best to soak it up.
Even the crying.
